I have used Betten Auto Service for several years. I have found them to be courteous, fair, and prompt in providing service for our two Hondas vehicles. Julie, the Assistant Service Manager, has been gone out of her way to see that thing are done right and in a timely manner. My last visit was for an oil change and tire rotation. In addition I asked them to see if a low hum noise could be identified. A new clamp on the exhaust system was installed and I was sent on my way. The waiting room in clean and has good coffee. I have even purchased my tires there as I found them to be as inexpensive as the discount tire stores which makes it convenient to have my tires rotated when having my oil changed. We called Betten Honda and they told us to call our roadside service number on the key. They came out within 30 minutes and jumped the car and told us to go directly to Betten Honda. They took us right in and checked the car out and couldn't find anything wrong. Told us they would leave the issue open for a couple of days and gave us a direct number to call should we have problems again. So far it has been fine. New owners of a Honda. We were traveling and needed an oil change, Betten Honda was on our way, so I made an appointment. JULIE, was who we made the appointment with on the phone, she was great through the appointment process. We arrived a hour hour early, but were able to get right in! We ended up having all our fluids changed, and they were able to do that without delaying our travels too much. We live 70 mile away from Betten Honda, with several dealer closer, but with the customer service we recieved at Betten Honda in Muskegon, we will make them our new service center :) Julie was the person we dealt with on the phone, at check in, and at check out, we can't say enough about the awesome customer service we recieved from her!!!! My salesman, Ben Homik, , did an excellent job. I had seen this car online so called to see if it was still available. Before I arrived he had it washed and it looked great. He explained many details about the vehicle. He wasn't pushy at all but enthusiastic about the strong points of this vehicle and all of this led to my decision to buy the car. There were several details to be worked out regarding when to pick it up, etc. etc. My daughter in law called Ben and they found a way to make it work well. She too commented about Ben's fine manner. I had never been to a Honda dealership. I drive an Acura & was referred to the Honda dealership (as its closer) to take a look at an issue. I was apprehensive. Upon arrival I was welcomed, felt comfortable, & service center waiting lounge was very pleasant, state-of-the-art! I just bought a 2006 Honda CR-V EX from a car lot and took it to Betten to have some maintenance done. Found out from them that my car was originally sold from their dealership. They answered all my questions and took care of the maintenance. They were very courteous. I will be going back in soon to complete the maintenance (valve adjustment and spark plugs). I am always happy with the repairs done on my Odyssey. It's a 2004 and it runs very well. The staff do the necessary repairs and I never feel like they are just trying to get me to spend more money for unnecessary repairs. My wife and I are completely satisfied with the exceptional customer service provided my Mark, Adam and Peter at Betten Honda. No pushy sales gimmicks - just down to earth friendly customer service. Mark was very accommodating to us as we looked for that perfect car. After looking at 5 cars that morning we actually drove across town to test drive a Toyota 4Runner but they didn't have it ready for us after we said we were coming to test drive it. Obviously they didn't want our business so we went back to Betten Honda and looked at more cars. Mark finally found us the car we were looking for - a 2014 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid in perfect condition and priced to sell! I highly recommend Betten Honda for your next car buying experience. We found a Honda Odyssey van on line that we liked and contacted Betten. We worked with Brett over the phone to get everything in order to trade our old van in and buy the new one. Brett had the new van ready for a test drive, and all the paperwork ready for us should we decide to buy, which we did. Refreshingly, the asking price was fair and consistent with Kelly Blue Book, and they gave us a fair amount for our old van without a lot of the typical car dealer haggling. My 2008 Accord has been taking oil. I received a recall notice from Honda saying they would fix the problem by replacing the rings and pistons. The car has nearly 90k miles on it and it is in the shop now getting the repairs at no cost to me. This is outstanding service from both Honda and Betten. I scheduled service on my 2010 Honda Ridgeline at Betten Honda due to the service light on my dash showing a code of B13. I arrived at my 7:00 am scheduled time and was greeted by Julie Kitchen. She was very friendly and courteous and after a few minutes of getting the paperwork done and signed she directed me to the waiting area. After a short time Julie came to me to me and explained that upon doing the truck inspection they found some areas of concern. I gave my approval to fix the areas of concern and was happy they found them as I probably wouldn't have thought to have them check those things on my own. My husband and I brought our Honda CRV to another local business prior to bringing it to the Betten Honda dealership to have the AC system repaired because we thought the dealer would be way too expensive. After we had many issues with the other business, we decided to call the Honda dealer. Julie was incredibly helpful, as was the mechanic who worked on our car. I came in for an oil change, check up and free car wash. Len had warned me last time that I might be needing new rear brake work done on my next visit, so I was prepared. Casey did a great job, informed me of the work needed and the price, checked the slow leak in one tire and had that patched as well. I wasn't able to get the usual free car wash due to painting being done in that area, but Casey explained that to me when I first came in. It is a huge inconvenience with my schedule and daily routine to come in three times in one week and possibly a fourth. The lot of this particular part is being tested and awaiting to determine what to do and Honda has been informed. I was under the assumption that all parts that are replaced belong to Honda's reassurance and quality. I am second guessing my next purchase of vehicle. The horizontal seat adjustment was always very noisy and difficult to use since I bought the car, but I thought that it was just way it worked until it froze (broke) in the way-back position. After my 2010 Civic that I bought used somewhere else had a TPMS system failure I was quite disappointed to realize it would cost the whole $100 deductible of my bumper to bumper policy to get it fixed. I left it unfixed and filled out the email survey expressing disappointment with the Honda TPMS system but appreciation for my treatment by the service department. I recently had a need to have an electric brake controller installed on my Honda Pilot. I called Betten and talked with Len, my service mgr. about it. He said they did installations but wasn't sure about the pricing. I called around to a few other places in the meantime. Bottom line, Betten was cheaper with a high end digital controller. I went in on Saturday and looked around having an idea in mind of what I was looking for in my next car. A salesman showed me around and pointed me in the direction of a Honda Fit. I sat in the car and could tell that it felt right. I told the salesman that I wanted to keep my options open was only there to look and then I left. On Sunday my husband and I stopped and I showed him the car that the salesman showed me and he liked how it looked. On Monday I stopped into take it for a test drive and I was sold. Just went through the process of a lease pull ahead. I just turned in my 2013 Honda Civic Ex and signed up for a 2014 Honda CRV EX AWD. I was very unfamiliar with the process itself, but my salesman, Joe Holstine made the entire process a breeze. Despite use of the dye, they still could not locate the leak. Both times I was charged only for the refrigerant (about $8), nothing for labor. I feel this is extremely fair treatment I would not have received a many repair shops. They have also not recommended an expensive repair in search of small and difficult to locate leak. These experiences have allowed me to have more expensive maintenance and repairs performed at Betten Honda with confidence that I am getting what I pay for. I really wish I would have known about this place sooner. I have started taking my Acura to Betten Honda last year and every time I've been there, they treated me with respect and were upfront and honest about the repairs to my vehicle. They didn't try to sell or push unnecessary services and they went above and beyond to help me out a number of times. For example, I thought I needed a new CV axle since it had a small tear in the boot, but they were able to just put a clamp onto it since it wasn't too bad off. The best part -- they did it for no charge. I'll only be taking our Honda/Acura cars here from now on, even though it's almost 40 minutes away from where I live. It's well worth the longer trip to get the job done right the first time, which is more than I can say for other mechanics/dealerships I have dealt with in the past. Show Full Review

I purchased a very nice 2008 Toyota Tacoma from Betten Honda. The sales rep with whom I worked was Tom S. Tom could not have been more helpful than he was. I stopped at the dealership one evening--at the beginning of a "truck search." Tom greeted me in the lot and inquired about the type of truck I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Tom several days later. He had found a very nice Toyota truck with all the features I had mentioned to him several days before. My search ended at that point. I bought the vehicle after a test drive. Tom was Wonderful to work with! Kudos also to Leslie D, who handled the details of the paperwork on my purchase. Tom also provided a tour of Betten's new and beautiful service department. I was impressed. Complimentary car washes and $19.95 oil changes were also included as part of this purchase. My wife is now beginning a search for a vehicle. Our salesman will be Tom S at Betten Honda. And just a suggestion to the dealership by way of some well-intended feedback---something I like to do with my staff to polish their performance even more: I did not think of this until I received my license plate and registration . . . But it might be a nice extra touch to inquire of the customer if that person would like a special design on the license plate or add to the cost of registration financial support for a favorite cause or university to order the plate with the special logo, etc. In addition, I am a huge supporter of our Michigan state park system. I buy the state park "passport" each year as part of my license fee (a well-spent additional $10). However, in all the excitement of my purchase of my "new" truck, I forgot to inquire about that option. I am sure that I can add that feature at a Secretary of State's office---but just thought I would offer that suggestion with these comments. I was purchasing my 2011 Honda Civic coming a three year lease. I signed the loan papers on a Friday, the next day the car was totaled in an accident. Monday I called Adam and let him know what happened. We worked through that. I was very impressed how that went. I was expecting a big hassle but Adam was very understanding of the whole incident. On Tuesday Shane Watts called and in a very low key way asked if he could earn mt business. He had already did some work on the Honda with getting me a decent borrowing % by making a few phone calls. I told go ahead and he took some info and we came back the next day and he had some great ideas that fit the parameters I gave him. Adam got a great interest rate. A great experience overall. Every time I've gone here whether it's just for an oil change or for repairs, these guys have been fantastic! I never feel like they're talking down to me or trying to take advantage of me because I'm a female. They explain everything to me in an easy to understand manner without insulting my intelligence and they never try to pressure me into getting anything done, but they do let me know what will need to have maintenance work in the near future and how much it'll cost. I just had an oil change and tire rotation and while I was there, Len also offered to do the free battery and alignment check for me, letting me know how everything was looking and what needed some tuning up without trying to pressure me into spending hundreds of dollars on the spot. I love my Honda and I love the Betten Honda crew! Show Full Review
